How can you help someone when you don’t have anything to give?


You, yourself are running on empty, and all you read on the socials today is that you should be filling your cup first. How are meant to give to someone else when you really can’t be bothered with anything in your own life.


So many people were affected through lockdown 4.0 and still being affected. It has hit some people really hard, while others, well their lives haven’t really changed.


There are so many different ways that you can show support to others in the community, without having to put a heap of cash behind it.

You say what, yeah it’s so true giving to others will increase your self-esteem, make you feel less depressed, lower stress that might be going on, and with all of those nasty things going down you will increase personal happiness and satisfaction.


So the next question is how do l give?


Some people think of giving and think of soup lines or helping out a charity when it’s a part of giving. Some people like to give a lot and some a little.


Here are some simple ways that you can give to others;


  • Send a text message, ‘hey, thinking of you of, let me know if you need anything?’

  • Make a phone call, ‘giving you a call to see how you a traveling?’

  • Write an email, ‘Here’s a picture of a cat, saying hang in there!’

  • Send a handwritten note, yep that’s right the old snail mail, it’s still around.

  • Buy a coffee for someone, it can even be for someone you don’t know.

  • Send flowers, or you can pick flowers from your neighbours garden then give them to them.


There are many different ways to show someone you care, to give a little back into our community, it doesn’t have to break the bank. All you need to do is show someone you care.


Once you start you will start to feel the positive effects of giving, this will help boost your spirits and fill your cup in return. All that has to make is making the first step, if you want to make a change within yourself you need to make the first move. Think about someone that you love, flick them a message, send your love and check in.
