    STARTING Vs PERFECTION

How do you start? Where is start for you? The other week in our CHPT monthly Mindstate session that is offered to our members and clients I spoke about starting and seeing as though it is the start of the year it seems fitting that I do a little blog post about it. We ourselves are the ones who put pressure on ourselves to make the starting perfect. What is perfect what does perfect mean to you and how do you measure perfection in your life? We all know how to start we all kn

Social media does my head in!!! In so many ways! Post; build your business, but stay off-screen time, stay off the socials as they can have a negative impact on you mentally. Be authentic with what you post but watch who you follow as they can be nothing but filters. If there was ever a time for the saying ‘what is a blessing is a curse’ could be more accurate than this is the time! How much time do you spend on socials, let’s be honest? The average time spent on socials acc

    Starting AGAIN.

Starting Again. It is never easy, to start again, and as they say ‘if it was easy then everybody would be doing it!’ It is so easy to stop an exercise program, it is so easy to sit and put other things in front of you getting out and moving. But once you have stopped, how do you start again? Here are some tips to help you get started; Don’t try to start again where you left off. For example, if you were a runner, and the last run you went on was 10km don’t start back with a

    Frenemy’s Take 2

WOW WOW WOW, what a response to my last blog post! First, l was surprised that people do read my blogging. Thank you! Second, my phone blew up! My phone and messenger had feedback coming in all day. I am so surprised that so many ladies, yes ladies, still deal with people in their lives that don’t bring them joy. They in fact spend their daily lives with humans that bring them down, aren’t there for them in the true scent but only to gain from them. My question back to the

    ‘Frenemy’

A few weeks ago l learnt that the term ‘Frenemy’ was real and not something in the movies. I seriously thought that the term was made up, and surely not real in real life. Guess what, l am not happy to say that l was wrong. I was chatting with a friend about the actions of a person because l wasn’t understanding where that person was coming from. My friend’s response was ‘oh they are frenemies!’ I had no idea what she was talking about. Then my dear friend went on to explain

    Giving.

How can you help someone when you don’t have anything to give? You, yourself are running on empty, and all you read on the socials today is that you should be filling your cup first. How are meant to give to someone else when you really can’t be bothered with anything in your own life. So many people were affected through lockdown 4.0 and still being affected. It has hit some people really hard, while others, well their lives haven’t really changed. There are so many differ

    Healthy Changes.

How do you get people excited about making a healthy change in their lives? That’s the 64million dollar question! There are so many fitness challenges, wellbeing challenges, tablets to take, and quick fixes that the marketers of the products make you believe will solve all your problems. When really they won’t. There are many books that have been written, many podcasts that have been made with simple solutions on how to help others make healthy changes in their lives. While

    Coaching at CHPT.

Coaching. What is Coaching? Defined on the google machine as my mum would say; ‘Put simply, coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the 'here and now rather than on the distant past or future. ... Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.’ https://www.skillsyouneed.com/learn/coaching.html I have been working in the Fitness Industry for just about 20years an

‘I want to do it, but l really can’t be bothered!’ ‘I know l should do it, but l just don’t want to.’ ‘They make it look easy, l can’t do it as they do.’ ‘Why does it feel so hard…’ ‘I just don’t have the motivation.’ How often do you hear yourself say these statements above when you are wanting to start something new or make some lifestyle changes. I hear them from clients all the time. What l am really hearing is that the client doesn’t value themselves or their bodies. Wha

    The Accountability Project.

Goal Setting How do you set goals? Do you set the big goals and hope for the best? Do you write your goals down and that’s enough? Or do you set little goals on the way to reaching the big ones? Recently CHPT started The Accountability Project. What is this? And why? The Accountability Project is a weekly check-in with our clients (who chose to take it on) to see how they are traveling with reaching their goals. I have been training clients and working within the fitness i

    Prevention, what are you doing?

I went for a beautiful walk yesterday afternoon with one of my top five! As we do we discuss many topics, ranging from the growing lawn, to lulu tight and yes my top lady made a really great point that l wanted to share with you all. We were discussing mental health, not that we have all the answers, my dear friend brought up the following comment; ‘we spend money on car insurance to protect us against anything that could or can happen, can people do the same for mental healt

    Is being loyal blinding you?

Is being loyal blinding you? Even as l turn 40 l am still learning things about myself. Loyalty is one of my values l hold dear to myself, l pride myself on being loyal to those who l love and respect. What l have learnt about myself recently is that loyalty can also be blinding. What do l mean by this? I loved being loyal, l loves showing support and l loved being on the team (let’s call it A) Team A. When a comment was made, or a story was told l immediately would jump on T

    How do you work?

I try to make every Tuesday the day l sit down and write a blog piece. After l have written l think to myself, ‘wow l have got a week to get the next one day, I’ll try to get it done by Friday!’ Then the next thing that l know l am back at Tuesday thinking, ‘arrrrr l didn’t do it.’ I was talking to a beautiful client yesterday, and we spoke about timing and getting things done. Some people, work better with a deadline, while others like to get it done straight away. For me,

How much are you willing to put in?

Setting goals is the easy part, putting the work in now that’s the hard part. Writing your goals down on paper makes everything seem so easy, but then when it comes time to do the real steps, it’s not as easy. The temptation will always be there, the cutting of corners, or the little bit of chocolate, or the short track home from what’s meant to be a 5km run. How important is it for you to reach the goal? Is the goal worth you putting all the effort in or just doing half the

    Decisions.

Making a decision can be the easiest or the hardest thing that you need to do in a moment. So decisions can be made easier by knowing what is right for you and what you want to achieve. Others well are harder due to fear. Fear of what? Fear of the unknown, fear of not knowing what is around the corner, and fear that it may be the wrong decision to make. Change can be a super scary thing to face head-on. We get so comfortable in what we know, what we do, and how we do it -

How do you prepare for the unknown?

Comp prep, how do you prepare for something that you don’t know the outcome to? Being a competitive Weightlifter, you need to be comp ready, when you need to be comp ready. There are no second chances on the day so how do l prep for this? I work every day on my Mindset. I find if l miss a day l go backwards, mentally. Mental preparation needs to be done daily, without putting the work in daily, it is like turning up to run a marathon without any practice kms on your legs.

How much time are you willing to give?

There has been so much excitement going on in our house lately. We have recently renovated our kitchen. Nothing to fancy, no huge changes but we do have some beautiful new cabinets and a stunning island. One of our friends came to help put the new kitchen in. He is a cabinet maker by trade but he is also a craftsman. I watched as he would look at the product, touch, and then say how much the door or the shelf was out by. He would then grab his tape measure to double-check

    VALUED!

I found myself avoiding writing this blog post this week. For some reason it was something that l kept putting off, l was finding so many other ‘FUN’ things to do. When l start to avoid things it means that there is a learning in there that l don’t or l am not ready to adventure upon. I have been giving a few different opportunities this last fortnight to reflect on how far l am have come in my personal growth. Sometimes you spend all this time working on yourself emotional

    Here I Am 2021

As one year rolled into another as the fireworks woke us up on New Year’s Eve, l went about like most setting new goals and targets for myself. Working through what worked last year, what didn’t, what did l learn, what can l do better, and what would l love to achieve if l had nothing to stop me? As l started to tick the items off the list, l kept avoiding blog post writing. I kept saying to myself, ‘oh l must not be ready to face that yet?’ I am never afraid to step up for

    2020

And that's a wrap for 2020… And what a year we went through, well i think we all know what we went through and l think that all that matters now, is that we are here to talk about it. Take a moment to think about what you have survived this year, think about the things that you have accomplished. Think about what you have learnt about yourself as a person and that way that you have grown. Think about the good things, the people that you love and have loved. Ask yourself what
